A summary of first results on the analysis of proton data from SOHO/ERNE in the period
1996–2017 are presented. Multi-energy analysis based on available channels distributed from
17 to 130 MeV have been completed. Correlation study, as a function of the proton energy, has
been performed between the peak proton intensities and the associated flare class/speed of the
coronal mass ejection. The study extends previous works focused only on solar cycle 23, and
adds a comparative analysis over the first eight years of the current 24th and previous solar
cycle.
