Galaxy interactions and mergers can induce inflows sufficient to trigger both starburst and
nuclear activity. We present a study of the starburst in the circumnuclear regions of a sample of
active galaxies. Star formation parameters (history, age, rate, etc.) are estimated on the basis of
independent methods. We fit the spectral energy distribution accounting for the active nucleus.
Spectroscopic star formation rate indicators are used, too. Evidence for active galactic nucleus
feedback is also searched for. We discuss the relation of starburst parameters with the
characteristics of both active nucleus and host galaxy.
