Abstract Text: *
The main objectives and work structure of the project “The origin of solar energetic particles:
solar flares vs. coronal mass ejections ” are presented. This is a space weather research
network between scientific partners from Bulgaria and Russia. Selected results from the first
year of this collaboration are summarized and discussed. A dedicated project web-site is
developed in three languages. Future scientific results and information for the general public are
planned to be hosted there: http://newserver.stil.bas.bg/SEPorigin/
