Accretion disk in massive close binary system Authors: * Djurasevic Gojko Preferred format: * Oral Abstract Text: * The results of our investigations of some massive close binaries (CB) in the last 10 years (RY Sct, V448 Cyg, V455 Cyg, V393 Scorpii, AU Mon, DQ Velorum, UU Cas, OGLE05155332-6925581, Beta Lyr, HD170582, ELHC10, V495 Cen, ...), based on the photometric and spectroscopic observations indicate the existence of the accretion disk around the more massive component, located deep inside the Roche lobe. The light curve shapes of some of this systems are similar to the ones of the overcontact systems like W UMa, but the nature of these massive CBs is completely different. Especially interesting is the fact that some of these systems show double-periodicity discovered by our colleague Ronald Mennicken from Chile. Here we briefly present the models of these systems and their basic characteristics.
